About Us

Twin Bear Equipment Rentals was founded in 1959 by Joe Petit, who built the original (and still operational) building in Big Bear City with an apartment upstairs for his family of 5.  In the early 1970's, Big Bear Blvd. was widened and paved, which meant that the concrete "Bears" on either side of the road had to be removed.  With the history of the  "Bears" to the community as well as our Company namesake, Petit saved the Bears from salvage, built new pilars and placed them on Our property, where they remain today.  After raising his family on site, Petit retired and sold Twin Bear in 1978 to Bill Emmell who in turn sold to The Saderup Family in 1982, which is US!!

Our family history evolves from Dad's roots in construction as well as Mom's excellence in catering and event planning.  Together, they expanded Twin Bear Rentals to a diverse privately owned Equipment & Party rental business, with all 5 children working in the business at some point, as well as spouses and grandchildren.  And, let's not forget our employees - a huge contribution to who we are.  They have helped us serve our mountain community as the only Equipment & Party Rental business in town, with a commitment to service and a reputation for strong family values.

With the growth of construction and our growing inventory, we purchased our 2nd location (Big Bear Lake) in 2004 for our Party & Event inventory.  Since this location has limited hours, appointments are suggested for Event planning.

Still family owned and operated, we provide Rentals to residential and commercial customers as well as community events, picnics & BBQ's; children's parties & graduations as well as beautiful wedding venues.  Twin Bear Equipment Rentals is a Company founded on the solid family operated business principals of trust  and service and old fashioned values that never grow old.
